The Jamestown Speedway was back in action on Saturday, August 9th for the the Dirt Race Central Wissota Street Stock Tour Championship weekend and the Wissota Late Model on Saturday night. Unfortunately, Friday night was cancelled due to weather from overnight and wet conditions. Thank you to our presenting sponsor for the weekend Embark: Jamestown. Special thanks to the Late Model Sponsors - Shocker Hitch and several local businesses for putting up a great purse.
It was overall a very busy Saturday, but great weekend! The track was just awesome and provided lots of exciting racing. The new clay has been very beneficial to the track surface and the track prep crew did a great job providing 3 to 4 wide racing throughout last night. The Wissota Late Model feature to conclude was awesome as the drivers were running next to the wall on the bottom to all of the way on the top of the track and the Wissota Street Stock feature was tremendous with a side-by-side lap-after-lap battle for the lead. There were so many side-by-side battles for the lead in several heats and features that it was an awesome sight to see and it was just a great weekend to be at the track.
Overall, the pits and grandstands were packed this weekend! A total of 184 cars in the pits to do battle on Saturday Night and the show was completed in 5 hours. It was like a mini-Stampede and we are so thankful for everyone coming out and joining us this past weekend.
