This past Saturday was a very special night at the Jamestown Speedway as the 4th Annual Don Gumke Racers' Memorial took place. The top drivers from around the region were here to compete in the IMCA Modifieds, Wissota Street Stocks as part of the Dirt Race Central Wissota Street Stock Tour, INEX Legends in memory of Jeff King, Wissota Midwest Modifieds, Bombers, and Slingshots. The weather was perfect and the racing action was very good. The track was quite fast and provided lots of great racing. Great job to the Jamestown Speedway track prep crew as Jamestown received over 4 inches of rain last week. It was an awesome night with a bunch of 3 to 4 wide racing.
We want to thank all of the drivers, fans, and track workers that came out to celebrate the life of Don Gumke, Casey Arneson, Jack McDonald, Jeff King, and Larry Ross on Saturday night. From all of us at the Jamestown Speedway, we hope everyone enjoyed the event and had a great time as we honored these great drivers and individuals. We really appreciate everyone's support at the Jamestown Speedway and we have to thank everyone for coming out for the 4th Annual Don Gumke Racers' Memorial. We also have to thank the crew from Dacotah Speedway TV for broadcasting the races on Saturday night for fans that could not make it to the Speedway. It was so great to have so many people in the stands supporting the event on Saturday night and especially, the families of the fallen drivers for coming out to the Speedway. Next week Saturday, June 17th, the Jamestown Speedway will be back in action with more great racing action. It will be the 1st night of the Mama Vetter Hobby Stock Challenge and the Red River Sprint Car Series. The gates open at 5:30 pm and racing action begins at 7:00 pm.
