4th Annual Don Gumke Racers' Memorial Event & Dirt Race Central Wissota Street Stock Tour - June 10th!
Drivers and Fans: One of the biggest Motorsport weekends in Jamestown is almost here! The 4th Annual Don Gumke Racers' Memorial takes place on Saturday, June 10th at 7:00 PM sponsored by Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC & Your Heartland Chevrolet Dealers, and I-29 Trailer Sales. It will also be the Dirt Race Central WISSOTA Street Stock Tour Night presented by Shocker Hitch at the Jamestown Speedway on June 10th. The top drivers from around the region WILL be HERE!!
Classes Running & Expected Payouts:
- IMCA Modifieds - $2,222 to Win, $222 to Start, & $122 for Non-Qualifiers!
- WISSOTA Street Stocks (DRC Tour Race) - $1,522 to Win!
- INEX Legends - $722 to Win!
- WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds
- Bombers/Pure Stocks
- Slingshots
Event Format:
- The IMCA Modifieds will run a special format of two sets of 10 Lap Heat Races. Drivers will draw one number during registration as the first set of heats will be set normally. The second set of heats will be an invert of the first heat (Ex. If you start in the front of the first set of heats, you will start in the back of the second set, etc.). The combined total of the drivers' passing points from both heat races will determine the B-Main and Feature lineups. Following the Heat Races, there will be B-Mains and then the A-Main Feature Event.
- The Bombers, Slingshots, INEX Legends, Wissota Midwest Modifieds, and Wissota Street Stocks will run a traditional format of Heat Races, B-Mains, and Feature main events.
The WISSOTA Street Stocks will also be running for an increased purse of $1,522 to WIN! The WISSOTA Street Stocks will also be running as part of the 2023 Dirt Race Central (DRC) WISSOTA Street Stock Tour. The Tour will run a three-day series starting at the Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, ND, on June 8th, Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, SD, on June 9th, and then continue to Jamestown on June 10th to end the weekend.
Memorial Event & Fallen Drivers:
Unfortunately, we lost Don back in January 2020 at the age of 66. It was a huge lost for the entire racing community, as Don was a pillar in not only Jamestown's racing community, but across the country. Don was a fierce competitor on the track and one of the most well-respected drivers in our community before he turned to be the track promoter of Jamestown Speedway. With the help of a lot of great people, Don, Joanne, and Keith Veil built the reputation of the speedway and made the Jamestown Speedway a premier track for drivers and fans to visit.
The Don Gumke Memorial Race is going to be special event in a variety of ways as Don inspired so many drivers across the country and was one of the nicest persons that you could meet at the track. Therefore, all of us at the Jamestown Speedway wanted this event to be special to commemorate a great man.
Pit & Entry Fees:
- Pit Fees: $30 (Adults - 13 & Over), $10 (Youth - 6-12 Years Old)
- Wissota Street Stock & IMCA Modified Car & Driver Entry Fee: $50
General Race Day Information:
- Pit Gates Open: 4:00 PM
- Grandstands Open: 5:30 PM
- Draw Cutoff: 6:00 PM
- Pre-Race Ceremonies: 6:50 PM
- Racing Starts: 7:00 PM
Grandstand Admission:
- Adults (Ages 18 & Over): $20
- Students (Ages 12-17): $5
- Youth (Ages 12 & Under): FREE!
There are a limited number of advanced tickets available at M&H and Neighborhood Grocery in Jamestown
Live Streaming/Race Broadcast:
- Dacotah Speedway TV (DSTV) will be live on Saturday at the Jamestown Speedway. Races will be broadcast live for fans and drivers that can't attend the Memorial Race.
