This SATURDAY, AUGUST 20th is going to be one of our biggest nights of the summer! All Classes are going to be competing plus its the third leg of the Sanders Modified Challenge Tour. The Sanders Mod Challenge is a four night tour from Ada, MN to Fargo, ND to Jamestown then back to Glyndon. Each night pays a minimum of $1,500 to win in the Modified division, we're expecting upwards of 40-50 Modifieds in Jamestown this weekend. Plus Bombers, Streets, MW Modifieds, and the SlingShots! This is one Saturday you don't want to miss!
Last weekend was an interesting one at the speedway. A rain shower hit the track just before 5:00 and track crews worked their tails off for the next three hours getting the speedway ready to race. A good field of NLRA Late Models was in town, plus there had been two weeks off since our last race, so letting a little rain shower stop us from racing was the last thing any of us wanted to do! Many thanks to the track crew and others for their help. Modified racers Rusty Kollman and Randy Tarno jumped in a tractor and bobcat and made some slow laps around the speedway for a change. Jeremy, Don, Travis, Jay, Kyle, and I'm sure a few more I'm missing really deserve a huge thanks for their efforts last weekend!
The one plus side to a rain delay is it usually means we'll have a good & fast, tacky track and the race cars will fly around the speedway. That's just what we had too, the NLRA Late Models put on an outstanding show in their feature with just one caution flag near the start. After that they went green the rest of the way and put on a show only the Late Models are able to! If you weren't here you missed out! Other classes had a few highlights too - Ryan Ost finally broke through and got his first feature win on the big track (he's had many on the go kart track). Likewise Joey Rowell picked up his first feature win at his home track. Lots of good things happening at the speedway this summer. I encourage you to get out and check it out, you won't be disappointed!
