The North Dakota Buffalo Foundation & the Zonta Club of Jamestown along with the Jamestown Speedway will once again be holding the driver's Calcutta in conjunction with 2013 Jamestown Stock Car Stampede, which takes place on September 20th and 21st. Drivers in the Wissota Late Models, Wissota Modifieds, Wissota Super Stocks, Wissota Street Stocks, Wissota Midwest Modifieds, Bombers (Central Dakota Pure Stocks), and Hornets will once again be auctioned off this year.
Three things will happen this year during the auction. One, everyone will get a chance to buy their favorite drivers, with the opportunity to win big bucks. Second, from the bidding that takes place, 10% will go into the prize fund for the drivers at the Stampede. Third, it is a sure thing that everyone will have a great time.
The Calcutta will take place on September 19th in the Beer Gardens on the Stutsman County fairgrounds behind the Jamestown Speedway (Must be 21 to enter the beer gardens, under 21 drivers will be allowed in enter to get auctioned off but must leave afterwards). Auction starts at 6:00 to be followed by entertainment by the band, THE ROOSTERS, that everyone can all dance to. The bar will open at 5:00, with the auction beginning right after (No coolers or outside beverages will be allowed).
We do need all the drivers and fans help to make this event grow and expand in the near future. Please e-mail Paulette at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Paulette at 701-252-1605, or contact the raceline at 701-320-7749 with driver information for the Calcutta with the drivers that are participating in this year's Stock Car Stampede. Information should include the driver's class, car number, e-mail if possible, phone number, address, and etc.
Remember Drivers: IT IS FREE TO ENTER THIS EVENT AND IT WILL PROVIDE FOR EXTRA MONEY IN THE PRIZE FUND!! All this info will help us to establish a system for the Calcutta for the years to follow. Everyone had a great time last year, and we are looking forward to the same this year. Thanks to Joanne, Don, Keith, Teri, and all of the Jamestown Speedway Staff in helping to prepare for this wonderful event.
